Our client PROMPTU achieves big win in parallel US litigation for Patent on voice- recognition

PAUSTIAN congratulates PROMPTU SYSTEMS Corp. and our U.S. colleagues at FINNEGAN on the recent USD 240 million jury verdict against Comcast in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for willful infringement of PROMPTU’s voice-recognition patent.

Our firm was honored to support this longrunning dispute by leading the parallel German validity proceedings over two instances, collaboratively discussing strategy on validity and infringement issues across jurisdictions, and helping to develop the technical and legal narrative around PROMPTU’s pioneering voicepowered TV interfaces.

The decision confirms that innovative user-machine interface technology can enjoin strong patent protection and shows that determined enforcement over many years may ultimately prevail.
